Casa Marin Sauvignon Gris 2019

93pts. Tim Atkin

A silky and elegant wine, very balanced and with a long persistence on the palate, it has notes of rhubarb and white fruit bathed in citrus juice, a wine with a unique personality. Thanks to its great structure, a little residual sugar and its fresh acidity, this wine can be ideally paired with oysters, although over the years we have realized that this wine is also excellent to pair with oily fish accompanied by spicy sauces, food Asian and sweet and sour dishes. Try it and you will be surprised.

The Winery

The Casa Marin winery is located in Lo Abarca, a small town in San Antonio Valley, Chile. The land's cool climate & soil characteristics was considered challenging but it did not stop Maria Luz, the first Chilean woman winemaker, to develop the land to produce wines that received many awards internationally later on. Casa Marin is noted for their delicate & special handling of their single vineyard wines which gives each wine a distinct personality and complexity. Their wines are known for their balanced natural flavors, distinct aromas and natural acidity. Maria Luz and her son Felipe later developed wines that won awards in the icon & premium categories. The whole family continues to produce wines that are now popular in Chile & worldwide.
